Villain’s would made the life of hero and heroine miserable. They would have mujra and or cabarat dancers as part of villain’s set up.
Singing quawwali in disguise would be the response of the lead actors.
Then there was comic side plot. And then character artists, such as parents of the lead actors, siblings of the lead actors etc.

Today’s song is from a film Jeete Raho-49- a C grade action and stunt film.
” In every real man, a child is hidden that wants to play “- said German Philosopher Fredrick Nietzsche. As a child, one enjoys stories of valour, magic, superpowers and adventures. As an adult, the taste changes but what is etched in the core of mind, remains. That is why, when you see children playing Cricket or Football, you feel like trying your hand. When you see a Policeman catching a thief valiantly, you clap with glee. When you are alone you get lost in day dreaming. So on and so forth….

Sports biopic is a rare genre for Hindi film industry until recently. Producing a sport biopic film is like venturing into an uncharted water. However, the box office successes of ‘Paan Singh Tomar (2012) and ‘Bhaag Milkha Bhaag’ (2013) have created a trend in Bollywood to produce sports biopic films on a regular basis. During the last 5 years, sports biopic such as ‘Mary Kom’ (2014), ‘Dangal’ (2016), ‘Azhar’ (2016), ‘Budhia Singh – Born to Run’ (2016), ‘M S Dhoni – The Untold Story (2017) and ‘Soorma’ (2018) were released. Some more sports biopic films have been in the pipelines for a long time. They include films on Dhayan Chand (Hockey), Saina Nehwal (Badminton), P V Sindhu (Badminton), Abhinav Bindra (Shooting) etc.

Today’s song is from an obscure, unknown film, Bhagya Laxmi-1944.
The film had a good star cast like, Shanta Apte, Prem Adib,Vasanti, Rajkumari Shukla, Jagdish Sethi, Moni Chaterjee etc. The few songs of this film, which I have heard make me feel that music too was good. ‘Proof of the Pudding is in its eating’-listen to today’s song and you too will like this very melodious song. Shanta Apte can not be called a very good singer- she was OK. But the Lyrics and the tune of the song has taken her voice to a new height. It is genuinely an excellent song indeed.

Today’s song is from film Nakhre-51. It is sung by Devendra Mohan, Shamshad Begum and chorus. This is a foot tapping song, reminding of a Vinod or O P Nayyar song. The tune of this song resembles a more well known song of later period, but I am unable to identify it. This is a second successive song I am discussing, after song from “Hawai Khatola”-46 which also had a similar tune to some other song.
I have come across umpteen number of songs from Hindi films which have similar tunes-in part or the whole song. I am not talking of Parody songs, because Parody songs obviously use a popular tune to make fun of it,with different but funny lyrics. Here the intention is to make a comedy song.
