1943 saw titles like “Khanjarwaali”(1943) and “Pistolwaali”(1943). These were stunt movies, viz movies catering to the taste of low brow audience. These movies have been forgotten with time and their songs are extremely difficult to locate. These movies are not yet represented in the blog.

Regulars may be noticing that these days we rarely discuss songs composed by music directors likr Naushad, O P Nayyar, Madan Mohan, S D Burman etc. It is not by choice but by “compulsion”. All these music directors composed around 550-750 songs each. Only around 100 odd songs and in some cases even less than 100 songs are left to be discussed.

“Nurse” (1943), also known as CHHOTI MAA, was directed by Chaturbhuj Doshi for of Ranjit Movietone, Bombay. The movie had Khursheed, Arun Ahuja, Prabha, Anil Kumar, Indira, Sheikh etc. in it.

The movie had Shakeela, Hemant, Kuldeep, Randheer, Ram Avtaar, Chaand Burque, Shanti Madhok, Heera Sawant, Khairaati, Kumar, Anwari, Chanda, Kavita, Mukherji, Panditji, Rajan Kapoor, Ramesh Thakar, Uma Devi etc in it.

“Durga Maata”(1960) was produced and directed by B S Ranga for Vikram Productions, Madras. The movie had Rajkumar (south), Sowcar Janaki, Sandhya, Nagan, Narsomharaju, Bhatt etc in it. It appears to me that this movie was a remake/ dubbed version of a Sputh Indian movie where songs were created afresh for the Hindi version.

“Darbaar” (1955) was a Golden Movie production. It was directed by Nanubhai Bhatt. The movie had Mahipal, Chitra, Sunder, Tiwari, Kammo, Kamal, Niranjan Sharma etc in it, which suggests that it was a B grade movie.
