“Kurukshetra” (1945) is one of the lesser known K L Saigal movies, as far as I am concerned. This movie had actors like K L Saigal. Nawab Kashmiri, Shaamlee, Udwwadia, Biman Bannerji, Radha Rani,Ajit,Tara,Agha Mehmood Kashmiri etc. This movie was directed by Rameshwar Sharma.

Searching for the 6 remaining songs not yet discussed in like searching for a needle in a haystack. After careful search, it has been revealed that this particular song from “Krorepati”(1936) had so far escaped from being posted. 😀

“Kismat” (1943) has the distinction of being India’s most successful movie at the box office (it ran for three years at one movie hall) before its record was broken by “Sholay” (1975) (it ran for five years in one movie hall). “Kismat” (1943) really must have caught the imagination of the public at that time. And its music definitely played a big role in bringing movie watchers to the movie halls.

Saigal Saab acted in 29 Hindi movies during his career of 15 years. Of these, 21 films were produced by New Theatres. In an unbroken association from 1932 to 1941, Saigal Saab appeared in 20 films by this production house in continuity. In 1942, Saigal Saab moved to Bombay, and started to work with the production houses there. Post 1942, there is only one more picture that is produced by New Theatres in which Saigal Saab appeared. This is the 1944 production My Sister. From the unbroken string of 20 films with New Theatres, the last one is Lagan produced in 1941.

“Kangan” (1939) is a movie starring Ashok Kumar, Leela Chitnis,Mubarak, Vasant Desai (who later became a well known music director) etc.
This movie apparently had two music directors who composed a few songs each. They were Ramchandra Pal and Saraswati Devi. In the past, I have discussed one song from this movie which was composed by Ramchandra Pal.
