“Dilruba” (1950) has some awesome songs in it. In fact I have discussed as many as five songs from this movie. In fact I was so impressed with one song ( Dhak dhak karti chali jeewan ki rail re )of this movie that I had posted that as the 2000th song of this blog.

“Mere Mehboob” (1963) is a kind of movie that is popularly described as a Muslim social movie. This movie, like most movies of this genre had wonderful songs in it. In fact, the music of this movie was the major reason behind the success of this movie , the actors of this movie were just in the right place at the right time and benefitted from the roaring success of the music of this movie.

I have so far discussed songs from “Singaar” (1949) that were sung by Suraiyya and Surinder Kaur and picturised on Suraiyya and Madhubala respectively. This movie also has songs sung by other singers and picturised on lesser actors.

Aayi bahaar jiyaa dole moraa

I was aware of “Aarzoo” (1965) which was a musical blockbuster. Then I became aware of another movie of this name that came in 1950 and I found the songs of this movie “boring”. In fact, that is what happened with me for songs of movies with similar names.Being a youngster growing in 1970s, I liked music of “Andaaz”(1971),”Adalat” (1976) , “Parvarish”(1977) and disliked music of older movies with same name and wondered why older generation created such “boring” music.

“Opera House” (1961) was a B grade movie starring Ajit, B Saroja Devi, K N Singh, Maruti, Niranjan Sharma,Baalam etc. Many of the so called B grade movies of those days are indistinguishable from A grade stuff, except for low budget. And as far as the music of these movies were concerned. The music was invariably A grade.
