At the age of 5-6 years, you are too young to realise what is going on, and at the age of 15-16, you have learnt to think logically, and you are then required to become mature and responsible. Neither state of affairs is desirable if you want to enjoy Hindi movies.

I can watch songs of a movie any number of times. On the other hand, I find watching the same movie a waste of my time. Perhaps I have become “mature” with time. As a sign of this “maturity”,I would rather spend three hours trying to get the lyrics of a song right than watch the movie containing this song which may take less time.:D

When “Fakeera” (1976) was released, I pooh poohed it as a B grade movie. Even the reviews of this movie in magazines seemed to bear me out that the movie was no great shakes.

Though this song is from a movie of 1961, I first heard this song just a few days ago. And since then, I have come to the conclusion that this song must be one of the greatest songs created in Bollywood movies. And I am really surprised that this song is not all that well known. A song like this should form part of all the “all time classics” that music companies come up with periodically.
