Today (4 september) is Rishi Kapoor’s birthday. It appears only yesterday that he made his debut as a teenage hero in “Bobby” (1973). But in reality that was 39 years ago ! How time has flown! Now it is his son who is a teenage heartthrob and Rishi Kapoor these days plays old man’s roles.

Luteraa (1965) is a musical bonanaza that boasts of absolutely fabulous music by Laxmikant Pyaarelal, who had just arrived on the music scene two years prior. All the songs in this film are veritable gems. In all seven songs are present in this film, all penned by Anand Bakshi. All the songs are dance songs, all songs are in female voices. Yes, interesting that there is not a single song in a male voice. Of the total seven songs, six of them are in Lata ji’s voice. As mentioned all are dance numbers, four of them performed by Nishi, who is the leading lady in this film, one by Helen and one by Bela Bose. All these six songs are already present on this blog.
