Aabhaas Kumar Ganguly, was the third son of Kunjalal Ganguly, the advocate, living in the town of Khandwa in Madhya Pradesh. Aabhaas was born this day in the year 1929. While at school, he had a very serious interest in theatre and drama, and used to regularly win gold medals for his performances. Plus he had a wonderful voice, and was very much in demand as a singer in family and school/college gatherings. The renowned KL Saigal was his idol. He considered Saigal Sb to be his guru, and would sing only his songs.

When I woke up early morning and started the computer, I was pleasantly surprised to see that the google doodle on google.co.in contained Kishore Kumar’s sketch in it. So if google can remember 4 august as the birth anniversary of Kishore Kumar, then this blog cannot be left behind, of course.

Today (4 august 2014), on the occasion of the 85th birth anniversary of Kishore Kumar (4 august 1929-13 october 1987), we will discuss a few Kishore Kumar songs in the blog.

There are combinations of artists that have created some wondrous songs and music. But the disappointment at times is that these artist may have had really very few opportunities to work with each other. Yesterday, as I started to select some songs to post for today to celebrate Mukesh’s anniversary, this thought came to my mind. And I started to look for some songs that Mukesh has sung under the music direction of Jaidev. Just putting together these two names, sounds like a great combination that expected would be creating some wonderful gems together.

Today (22 july 2014) is the birth anniversary of Edwina Violette, affectionately called Edu by her aquiantances. She was born in a Military Hospital and the Matron of the hospital gave her the Name Edwina after Lady Mountbatton.
