I am of the firm opinion that sad songs are best sung by 1) Mukesh 2) Talat and 3) Hemant Kumar. Though I like Mohd. Rafi very much, he is not among the first 3 names for sad songs in my list. The pathos one finds in the voice of Mukesh in unmatched !

Here we are at the tenth and final song of the series ‘Nainon se naina milaa ke ‘. When I started this series, I had just three songs with similar mukhda’s one of which is the tenth song. The duet from ‘ Shahkaar ‘ and Geeta Roy solo from ‘Hamaari Manzil’ were the other two. So I had thought of keeping it short and sweet with these three songs.

There are some sensible ones like ‘do not react’ or ‘sleep over it’. For someone like me fortunate enough to know Urdu, it makes sense to turn to Urdu poetry.
