(Kishore Kumar’s 38th ‘Remembrance Day’ 13th October’2024)
Today 13th October’2024 is the 38th Remembrance Day of the legendary singer Kishore Kumar. He was born on 4th August’1929 at Khandwa (now in Madhya Pradesh) and he passed away at the age of fifty-eight only on 13th Octorber’1987 at Bombay (now Mumbai).
On this occasion, as a tribute to him, I will be presenting a few songs (if possible) sung by him. For today’s presentation I will be presenting some lesser-heard or never heard songs of Kishore Kumar from some un-released or obscure movies. However we will start the day with a song from a released film from the year 1952.

Today’s song is from the 86 year old film Brahmachari-1938.
The film was made by master Vinayak under the banner of his own short-lived film company “Huns Pictures”. During its existence of only 4 years, the company had given 10 memorable films. Though Vinayak’s films had a lot of demand, he had to close the company due to financial miscalculations which led to its being sold.

Geetanjali Pictures of Hemant Kumar had tasted success in the genre of suspense/mystery thriller in ‘Bees Saal Baad’ (1962) and ‘Kohra’ (1964). The banner had also produced ‘Faraar’ (1965), ‘Bibi Aur Makaan’ (1966) and ‘Khamoshi’ (1970) without much success at the box office. After a decade of the box office success of ‘Bees Saal Baad’ (1962), Hemant Kumar tried to repeat the success formula in ‘Bees Saal Pahele’ (1972). The cast included Fearless Nadia, John Cavas, Sayani, Sardar Mansoor, Rajkumari, Gulab, Dalpat, Shyamsunder and many other regulars from the Wadia stable. The lyricist was A.
