Today we will listen to a rare song by Asha Bhosle. It is “Mera Mann Bhatak Raha Deewana” from “Wohi Raat Wohi Aawaaz” (1973). This song is written by Hasrat Jaipuri and composed by Sonik Omi.
“Wohi Raat Wohi Aawaaz” (1973) was written & directed by Dev Krishan for ‘Mayur Productions’. It was produced by Vipin Desai.
It starred Radha Saluja, Sonia Sahni, Samit Bhanja, Sujeet Kumar, Manmohan Krishna, Asit Sen, Kamal Kapoor, Dev Kishan, Chandrima Bhaduri and others. This movie introduced Rohit Kumar and Ketty Irani.

“Sau Saal Baad’ of 1966 was an unsuccessful ghostly mystery film, produced by B K Dubey. The star cast included Feroz Khan, Kumkum, Manmohan Krishna, Rajendra Nath, D K Sapru etc. Lyrics were by Anand Bakshi and the superb music by Laxmikant Pyarelal.
The movie “Sau Saal Baad” (1966) tells the story of a young engineer who encounters a mysterious mansion and a haunting female voice, leading him to uncover a past life connection and a vengeful spirit. Welcome all to this post which comes after a long gap. I call it a ‘Long gap’ because this post was conceived by me ‘long back’ like many other posts of mine which remained unfinished aften getting started due to various reasons.
My last post on the blog was on 20th November. It was posted when I going through some health-related issues. I had to visit a Hospital in Nairobi, which is around 125 kms from my base station. Since some tests were to be conducted, I had to stay in Nairobi for four days. I stayed with colleagues working there in the Head Office. That didn’t allow me to concentrate on posts though I continued listening to music and watching songs. I even kept reminding our authors about movies that were falling under the ‘blog-ten-year challenge’.

Today is the eighty fourth birth anniversary (9 Jan 1934 – 27 Sep 2008) of singer Mahendra Kapoor. On this occasion today, I present this lovely and haunting song from the 1966 film ‘Naag Mandir’ here on our blog. This song has two versions one sung by Mahendra Kapoor and another sung by Lata Mangeshkar.
‘Naag Mandir’ was directed by Shantilal Soni for Mayurkala Pictures, Bombay. The star cast was led by Mahipal, Vijaya Choudhry and included Indira and BM Vyas.
