This song from “Subhadra” (1946) is extremely rare. This song is sung by Lata Mangeshkar. Pt Indra is the lyricist and music is composed by Vasant Desai.

The song is picturised on Lata herself. Yes, “Subhadra” (1946) is one of the rare movies where Lata acted and sang for herself. We all would have dearly loved to watch a song picturised on Lata herself.

The song itself is wonderful to listen to. I have no idea why this song is this rare. This song should have been among the lst of most well known Lata songs.

As a result, the movie ended up as a big grosser.

Not just the big name music directors, even small time music directors were creating quality stuff. The only difference between big names and small names was marketability, otherwise qualitywise, even music directors confined to B and C grade movies were just as good as the A grade music directors.
