This day ten years ago (4 January 2012) was a prolific day for the blog. As many as eight songs from eight different movies were covered on that day.

LIFE is a strange phenomenon – full of unexpected things and coincidences. Normally, I never take a long break in my post writing. Last month, however, I needed a break to relax and do things which I have been postponing or delaying – at Home level and work sphere. So I wrote to Atul ji informing him that I would take a hiatus from writing my posts from 28th October till well after Diwali, i.e. 10th of November. Little did I know that The Fate was smiling from behind me and that it already had its own plans to enforce a break to my total activities in the same period. Call it my Intuition or premonition. There was a time when the combination of Pyare Lal Santoshi (P L Santoshi), as a director, Rehana as the heroine and C Ramchnadra as a music director was a sure shot formula for box office success of the films. This combination gave hit films like ‘Shehnaai’ (1947), ‘Khidki’ (1948) and ‘Sargam’ (1950). But in 1952, this successful combination came to an end when ‘Shin Shinaaki Boobla Boo’ (1952) miserably failed at the box office. Though P L Santoshi remained active in the next about 2 decades, he did not regain the status in Bombay film industry which he had enjoyed in the 1940s.
