Today 21st July 2020 is the ninetieth birth anniversary of lyricist Anand Bakshi (born on 21 July 1930, he passed away on 30th March 2002). As a tribute to him here is a song written by him from the 1982 movie ‘Insaan’.
“Insaan-1982” was directed by Narinder Bedi for ‘Mukesh Movies Pvt Ltd’. Narinder Bedi also wrote the screenplay of this movie.

Blog 10-Year Challenge (2010-2020) – Song No. 41

Today 19th July 2020 is the thirteenth birthday of this blog. I wish Atul ji, Sudhir ji, our seniors and all team members on the blog a very happy birthday of the blog today and my greetings and best wishes to all on this occasion.
Ten years ago, on this day i.e. on 19.07.2010, four songs were posted on the blog. And they were posted in a pattern which I liked when I became a member of the blog and also this was a regular pattern in those years i.e. 2012 to 2014 (I think).

Rajesh Khanna – The Phenomenon – 6

Today 18th July is the Remembrance Day of Rajesh Khanna. He passed away on 18th July 2012. As a tribute to him here is song from the 1980 movie ‘Thodi Si Bewafaai’.
My last post in this series ‘Rajesh Khanna-The Phenomenon’ came almost one and half year back on his birth anniversary. In that post I had discussed a song from the 1979 movie ‘Amardeep’ and for today’s post we move to Rajesh Khanna movies in 1980.
The seventies ended on a positive note for Rajesh Khanna with ‘Amardeep’ being a hit at the box office. But, then 1980 was more like ‘turning around’ year for him on a positive note. And few of his movies performed well at the box office though only one of them viz. ‘Thodi Si Bewafaai’ became a ‘hit’ movie.

Today, the 18th of July, is the death anniversary of one of the Hindi film industry’s biggest superstars. Probably one of its most controversial too. And certainly one of its most polarizing.
No prizes for guessing who I’m talking about. Of course, I’m talking about the one-time heartthrob of millions of women, Rajesh Khanna.
It’s been 8 years now since that day in 2012. I still remember the morning I got to hear the news – I was stunned. I knew he was ailing, but even so I never expected it would be so soon.

Today’s song is from the 1974 movie ‘Hawas’. This movie is mostly known by its song “Teri Galiyon Mein Na Rakkhenge Kadam“. I remember that this song was frequently played on radio and loud speakers in those years. And I too associate this movie only with this song and had never tried to listen to the other songs of this movie. And yes, I never get to watch this movie until now.
