“Swayamwar”(1980) was produced by B Nagi Reddi and directed by P Sambasiva Rao for Vijaya Productions (P) Limited. In other words, this movie was produced by the makers of “Chandamama”, a popular Children’s magazine that used to be published in some 14 languages of India (and even some foreign languages). In this blog, I have compared this musical journey to a road journey as well as a train journey. Cricket world cup is going on these days so I can find some resemblence between cricket and this blog as well. 🙂
In limited overs cricket, the team chasing a total needs to maintain its asking rate and should not allow the asking rate to climb too high as that puts too much of pressure in the last few overs. Like cricket teams, we too “bat” at certain asking rate. Six songs a day was the asking rate that we easily used to maintain in the past. We were in great form during 2011 when we in fact maintained the asking rate of 7 to 8 songs a day for several months. 🙂
