This is a song from “Gumrah”, a 1963 movie showing Mala Sinha at her sacrificing best. In this movie, the kids of her sister ask her to tell a story, and she sings this song “ek thi ladki” (happy version) which she claims to be the story of one of her friends, but as the audience guess correctly, is her own story.This serves as a lullaby and the kids go to sleep peacefully.

He would give his best in movies after movies, but the movies would fail at the box office and even the critics would be umimpressed. Then a time came when critics began to acknowledge Rajesh Khanna’s performances, but the box office remained unrelenting.

“Samjhauta” was a movie that has been forgotten by now. And it is unfortunate that its songs have been forgotten too. The movie has not one but two great songs, one sung by Rafi, and another by Kishore Kumar, and unfortuntely both songs are difficult to come by, be it their video or just audio. And it is a shame really.

“Mera Naam Joker” was a labour of love for Raj Kapoor and he had made this movie with great hopes and expectations. Unfortunately, the story was ahead of its times and the Indian movie watchers were not ready for such movies in 1970. The movie flopped and Raj Kapoor suffered great losses as a result.
