“Ab Dilli Door Nahin” (1957) is a moving tale about orphan kids. The movie and its songs are in fact so poignantly picturised that I cannot bear to watch the movie. For that matter, I can rarely bear the watch the picturisation of a few songs too.

Finding out details is extremely difficult when it comes to forgotten artists of the past. Hardly any information seems to be available about them. and God forbid, if the name of the artist is similar to some well known artist, then your chances of getting any information on that person recede further, because all the information coming at you on search engines is only on the well known person of the similar name.

“Amar Rahe Ye Pyaar” (1961) is a movie about which very little information is available online. The only information I have been able to collect about the starcast of this movie is that it had Nalini Jaiwant, Rajendra Kumar and Nanda in it. Apparently, this movie flopped at the box office despite the presence of Jubilee Kumar in it.

I have not watched the movie called “Talaaq” (1958) but from its songs and some online reading up (both could be misleading 😀 ) leads me to believe that Rajendra Kumar and Kamini Kadam get married, have a child (Honey Irani) then fight among themselves and then file for divorce. In all these, the child finds himself kicked around like a football. when the warring duo finally reconcile with each other and search for their child, they find out that he is not to be found. For all they know, he has become an orphan and who knows, he could well have ended up in an orphanage.

“Naagmani” (1957) is not a movie that too many people have heard of or know much about. But even those people have definitely heard at least one song from this movie, without being aware of the fact that they are listening to a song from “Naagmani” (1957).

Atul has just brought to my notice that Kishore Kumar’s birthday falls on 4th August. He wanted me to write up a song on this occasion – how could I possibly refuse? For one, it is for Atul’s blog and therefore an honour to be part of it in any possible way. Secondly, it is for Kishore da – and he’s always been close to my heart too. So there was no second thought – and here I am, typing away furiously on my keyboard.

“Daaman” (1951) is one of those obscure movie about which not much information is available. Songs of such movies tend to be just as obscure but one can often come across some nice songs in such movies.
