I wonder if regulars of this blog notice the contents of the box that appears at the beginning of each writeup. It shows the day number of the blog as well as the post number. In case the movie makes its debut with the song then the movie number of this movie in the blog is also mentioned.
Yesterday (17 january 2020) was the 4200th day for the blog. It would seem that this occasion (described by me as artificial landmark 🙂 ) passed off unnoticed.
I began to take notice of this kind of century sometime in 2017. From then onwards I have been noticing it regularly. Noticing this event has been made easier because the day number accompanies each post now a days. this practice was started from 1 january 2018 at the initiative of Sudhir Jee and it has become a regular practice since then.

Here is that day again.
Yes, it is the 31st of July (2018) today – which for HFM lovers, wherever they are in the world, signifies just one thing.
The death anniversary of Mohammad Rafi – respectfully referred to as Rafisaab, by one and all.
I am sure there will be events around the country to solemnly mark the occasion. Why just in the country, probably even across the world, considering how distributed India’s diaspora around the world is.
Millions of people will be remembering today as Rafisaab’s Remembrance Day – a term we also often use on this blog.

Today (30 november 2017) is the birth centenary of Pushpa Hans (30 november 1917- 9 december 2011). She was an actor- singer in Hindi and Punjabi movies. Wikipedia page on her contain very little and incomplete details on her. According to wikipedia, she only worked in two Hindi movies. viz Apna Desh (1949) and “Sheesh Mahal”(1950). We in this blog are aware that she worked in “Singaar”(1949) and “Kaale Baadal”(1951) as well. Songs sung by her, from these four movies are represented in this blog.

Today(13 october 2017) is the 30th death anniversary of one of the greatest legends of the Hindi film industry, Kishore Kumar. On this day, the 13th of October 1987, he left this earthly world. He was just 58 then.
