I have mentioned this fact about Hindi movie songs that most of them are about human feelings viz love, sadness, happiness and not about commerce/business. In fact there are very few songs that are about selling some products. I have discussed a few songs where chanajor or similar stuff is being sold. “Rajput” (1951) is a by now obscure movie which had P Jairaj, Suraiyya, Kuldip Kaur, Shakuntala, Leela Mishra, D K Sapru, Mumtaz Begam etc in it. This Jubilee pictures movie was directed by Lekhraj Bhakri.

The title of the movie “Bikhhre Moti” (1951) gives enough statutory warning that this movie is a melancholic movie with melancholic songs. Indeed, this movie which had Jayant, Jeevan, Kamini Kaushal, Neelam, Nigar Sultana, Ranjana etc in it have just that kind of songs in it.

“Bikhhre Moti” (1951) is a movie I have little idea about. But I have gathered that this movie had actors like Jeevan, Neelam, Kamini Kaushal, Nigar, Jayant, Ranjana, Sherry etc in it. From the movie title, the movie appears to be a tear jerker movie.

“Afsaanaa” (1951) is a movie that had Ashok Kumar and Veena in lead roles.It also had Pran,Kuldeep Kaur,Jeewan, Cuckoo etc in it. This movie was a musical blockbuster and I have discussed as many as seven songs from this movie in the past.

“Buzdil” (1951) is a movie which had Premnath and Nimmi in lead roles. Yes, those were the days when Premnath used to act in lead roles. Kishore Sahu,Kanhaiyalal,Cuckoo etc are the other actors in this movie.

If one creates one or two masterpiece songs in a movie that I suppose the creators of such songs in that movie could be justified in taking it easy while creating the remaining songs. But that is not how they worked in the (G)olden days. The created one gem after another in the same movie, as if this was the last movie of their careers. And they continued it for their other movies as well for their entire careers that lasted a few decades. and then there were many others who worked in the same way. No wonder we are left with a huge body of quality music that we can keep exploring for decades, without being able to exhaust it.
