“Zindagi Ya Toofaan” (1958) is a movie which was a Seraphim pictures production. The movie was directed by Nakshab. THe cast included names like Pradeep Kumar, Nutan, Johnny Walker, Om Prakash, Minoo Mumtaz, Yakub etc. This movie had a story similar to Umrao Jaan and Nutan essayed the same role in this movie that was played by Rekha in “Umraao Jaan” more than two decades later.

“Sone Ki Chidiya” (1958) is a Film India Corporation Production. This movie was directed by Shahid Latif and the star cast included names like Balraj Sahni, Nutan, Pratima Devi, Dhumal, Altaf, Nutan, Mehmood, Amar, Bikram Kapoor, Zebunissa etc in it.

Every now and then, we lovers of this blog like to get together in this space and celebrate a milestone or landmark that this blog has achieved.

It may be a landmark to celebrate a particular artist’s hundredth (or even thousandth) song on this blog. Or it may be a landmark to celebrate yet another “century” on the blog song-count itself.

Recently, as we have now got multiple contributors to this blog, we have also celebrated “centuries” by contributors.

“Chalti Ka naam Gaadi” (1958) was a brainchild of Kishore Kumar. Legend has it that Kishore Kumar produced this movie to get over his tax problems. He wanted to produce a movie that he hoped would flop at the box office and that would enable him to balance his accounts for income tax purposes. He gave away the rights of this movie to his secretary Anoop Sharma who is credited as the Producer of this movie. The movie was directed by Satyen Bose and the movie included the three Ganguly brothers namely Ashok Kumar, Anoop Kumar and Kishore Kumar as well as the would be wife of Kishore Kumar namely Madhubala.
