An exceptionally private person, Suman Kalyanpur hardly gives an interview to anyone. What you read about her is generally surmised from little known facts and rumors. She is also a very simple and unassuming person. She very well knew that her voice uncanningly sounded exactly like Lata’s and as such she was called in as a substitute when Lata was either abroad or unwell or had fallen out with a singer or a composer, as was often the case, from time to time. She was considered as poor man’s (producers’) Lata. Not being appreciated for her real talent, which was exceptionally brilliant, her grudge was apparent and she hardly went out to beg for singing assignments to any composers.

Hi All
Today is a special day in the life of Mr. perfect Khan…. I mean Amir Khan. He turns a year older. It was exactly 25 years ago that he burst into filmdom with the song which I intend to discuss today. Come to think of it the other 2 Khans – Shahrukh and Salman– also complete 25 years in Bollywood.

The film “Baghaawat” (1982) must be a typical Sultan Ahmed film. It is easy to guess this much from this one song only which I knew from the days it was a new and popular song and played regularly on Radio. I have seen this song also earlier maybe on T.V. because I hav’nt seen this film. A few days back, maybe weeks,
one similar situation song was posted on the blog, which brought this song to mind. I searched and found the link, and been wanting to discuss this song since then.

I like the singing style of Yesudas. He has not done too many songs in Hindi, but his songs in CHITCHOR are still echoing in people’s ears. I have heard many songs of Yesudas in Malyalam. Though I did not understand the language, the voice of Yesudas was enough for me to enjoy them.

Sunny (1984) got released after Sunny Deol’s debut Betaab. The producer, his father himself, wanted to cash on the success of Betaab, for which he repeated the team again. Unfortunately this time the success didn’t repeat itself. Unfortunately, with the film also sank the wonderful musical score by R D Burman.

It has been quite a while since I last talked about my dogs. I have in fact so many things to talk about them that I do not know where to begin.
I had discussed it in the past that my dogs, especially Chhote, the younger one would run away from the home. Sometimes Bhhole, the senior of the two , would also run behind Chhote, mainly to accompany him.
