Alaap a 1977 film was produced by Hrishikesh Mukerjee and N.C Sippy and directed by Hrishikesh Mukherjee. The film stars Amitabh Bachchan, Rekha, Chhaya Devi, Sanjeey Kumar, Asrani, Farida Jalal, Om Prakash, Manmohan Krishna, Master Ravi, A K Hangal, etc. It is one of the best offerings of MD jaidev’ in his marvelous career. Dr Rahi Massom Raza and Harivanshrai Bachchan provided the lyrics for the songs.

Saawan aayaa baadal aaye

Most of the song farmaishes that I get are in the blog, but sometimes I also get farmaishes for songs in my email inbox. Yesterday I received an e mail from Jeetendra Mistry, who requested me to discuss a song called ” Saawan aayaa baadal aaya ” from “Jaan Haazir Hai” (1975). He mentioned that this song, which is picturised on Urmila Bhatt, is a rare song which he is unable to find.

When I meet people and I tell them that I have a blog of old songs, I get some well meaning advices, suggestions etc. One of these well meaning suggestions is that I need not re invent the wheel as far as writing down the lyrics of the song is concerned.
