A superb song picturised on Vinod Khanna, Meenakshi Sheshadri, Shafi Inaamdaar, etc. ( Can someone tell me the name of the lady playing Shafi’s wife ?).
For a long time, I thought that this song was sung by Kishore Kumar. Now it turns out that it is sung by Kumar Sanu. The Kishore Kumar clone that Kumar Sanu is, he has sung this song superbly and it has got to be one of his best songs ever. Sadhana Sargam, who makes her first appearance in this blog, sounds so sweet, almost sugar like.

The first thing that many younger people may notice in this song is that Rakesh Roshan, the father of the present day superstar Hritik Roshan ( but to me the son of music director Roshan) had ample hair on his head unlike the takla that he is these days. Rakesh Roshan was just managing to keep his nose above water as an actor those days, and this movie “Kaamchor” helped his cause a great deal.

Such songs were almost becoming anachronism in those days, and I do not think this song became too popular. But as far as discerning listeners are concerned, it will count among the best songs of Kishore Kumar.

Here is a cute song for the whole family. The song is meant for tiny tots, and indeed the song was picturised as such. Kids love to listen to story, especially at bedtime. Here the kids are shepherds out in a jungle and Amitabh Bachchan is a stranger. Amitabh tries to befriend the kids by offering to tell them a story. Wary at first, the kids are lured by the offer of a story. And what is the topic of story? It is not the story of kings and queens, or fairies. He would tell them the story of a tiger. The mention of a tiger naturally make the kids nervous.
