“Aapke Deewaane” (1980) is a movie that had some nice songs in it. This is one of the few movies I recall where Rafi and Kishore Kumar sang together. It was perhaps for the last time that the two sang together, since Rafi died shortly thereafter.

“Swayamwar” (1980) was a nice movie with a “Chandamama” style story. And that was not surprising, because this movie was produced by the same people who were the owners of this popular childrens’ magazine.

Considering that a large number of Bollywood songs are on the subject of love, it comes as some surprise to note that the subject of this love, be it a boy or a girl, is not named by his/her proper name, rather he /she is addressed by common nouns viz Saajan/ Sajni, mehboob/ Mehbooba, Aashiq etc.

In “Des Pardes”, Pran goes to England as an immigrant and back home his wife Indrani Mukherji and Younger brother Dev Anand wait for any information from him. Dev Anand sings this song for Indrani Mukherji, informing her that Pran has sent a gift (Nazraana) from England.
