Two years have passed. Well, almost, just about two weeks short. It was another cool night of November that I was busy typing the write up for the 5000th song on this blog. There was much exhilaration and excitement that the 5000th milestone was reached. There were some very cautious and guarded comments, pointing towards the 10,000th song. But at that time, although the 5000th was already capped, the 10,000th still seemed daunting and unthinkable. That was two years ago.

Regular by the calendar now, the century milestones are coming and passing with their fixed regularity. I suppose, this occasion is now taken for granted by the members of the bandwagon, the friend circle and the readers. The curiosity now is not so much, when the century milestone is coming up. Rather the curiosity now is, what is going to be the ‘century’ special that will be served up with the milestone. 🙂

Progressing with leaps and bounds, wow. On to the 86th century already today. Welcome to the 8600th song to be posted. Greetings and congratulations to all friends and readers. Isn’t this a wonderful place to be – the celebrations just keep coming, on and on. So let us celebrate today’s milestone in the typical Bhangra style of Punjab.

As I post this song here today on this blog, I have mixed feelings.
No, they are all good feelings – just, that they are mixed.

People who are into watching Hindi movies must have noticed that the lead actors do not seem to do anything for their livelihood in Hindi movies. The hero in these movies is seen wooing the leading lady, first by singing a teasing song, then a romantic song. Then there would be a separation song, a misunderstanding song, a reconciliation song etc. Thinking about his/her love interest appears to be the full time job with Hindi movie lead actors which certainly cannot be one’s means of livelihood unless their names happen to be Rishi Kapoor and Neetu Singh, who actually earned their livelihood by this method.

I love to liken the journey of this blog to a non stop long distance travel by road. As long as the vehicle and the road are working smoothly, one tends to pass milestones after milestones in no time. It is only when one is forced to push the brake down that one realises how fast one was travelling !

Chris Gayle’s recent record breaking feat in the 20/20 match at Bangalore, nowhere near compares with Atul ji’s performance on this blog. 😀 😀
I would challenge Chris Gayle to continue scoring this way, even for just one more match. Oh, I am so confident that he will not be able to repeat his performance. Not very soon, and neither so convincingly. But on our blog, the centuries being posted by Atul ji are remarkable – consistent, and incessant in their regularity. Just two weeks, give or take a day, and there we are, another century notched up on the board.
