Today’s song is a duet by Rafi and Chitalkar from the social comedy film Hangama-1952.
This is my 1300th post on this Blog. Is it for real ? It is too difficult for me to accept that I have written 1300 posts on old film songs. How did it happen ? If someone had predicted, when I was 71 year old, that I would write a New Chapter in my life and achieve few Milestones, that my name will be known to many people all over India and other countries, and that I will even write a couple of books…. and all this on old films and its music, I would have laughed aloud for a long time ! But it did happen !!

Only one song is being covered daily most of the days, with some exceptions. Do our regulars recall the date when the blog saw its last century ? Last blog century, which was song post number 18000 for the blog was posted on 18 september 2023 (Blog day number 5540). Today is 6 December 2023 (blog day number 5619). 79 days have passed since the last blog century. So it is clear that the blog is averaging just over one song a day from that day, thus the blog is living upto its name “song a day”. 🙂

Tribute to Mohammad Rafi on 43rd death anniversary
We come to that day again, when the death anniversary of Rafi Sahab becomes the subject of talk, discussion, posts in the blog, awe-inspiring for learners and a deep-thinking day for die-hard fans like me. As I grow older, the word ‘fan’ in this context sounds basic and amateur. Not that it is anything great for me to be a ‘fan’ per se, because I am but a speck on this mortal earth, whereas Rafi Sahab’s voice and songs have attained immortality.

Pray, what may be the most dear thing in this life?
Something that will never grow old, or stale. Something that will never be lost in life. Something that will only grow fonder with the passage of time. What is that thing?

Today’s song is from a stunt film Baboo ji-1950.
Oh my God ! Can’t believe it !! My 1200th Post !!!
