Missing Films of 1960s – 1

Let me explain the title and the intent of this new series. This series is an outcome of the project that our dear Katie Ben from ‘saat samundar paar se’ has undertaken, after she got hold of the Geet Kosh volumes. She zeroed in on volume 4, and she set about identifying all the films of the 1960s, that have yet to find a representation on the blog. Specifically, the period covered is 1961 to 1970. So she has very zealously pored through the fourth volume, page by page, film by film, and simultaneously kept on checking with the data on the blog. “Raag Rang” (1952) was produced under the banner of Bali sisters production and it was produced by Geeta Bali and Sudha Bali. The movie was directed by Digvijay. Today is 28 september 2015, a red letter day for HFM because it is the birthday of Lata Mangeshkar today who was born this day in 1929. The most shining jewel of a musically illustrius family, it goes withut saying that she has dominated Hindi playback singing for the last six decades or so. Many of the songs that have become integral parts of our daily lives as well as parts of our lives during special occasions have been sung by her.

Dev Saab – the phenomena continues. With coming newer generation, it may fade away. But there is still many more generations to go before that can happen.
