The charm of Hindi films for me began from the time I began watching them avidly. The charm lay in those unique features of the Hindi film; multi-starrer, great fight scenes, action-packed, zingy songs and scintillating dialogues. Kishore Kumar is today known as one of the legendary singers of Hindi movies. But that is not how he was known till late 1960s. Till then, he was a middling actor-singer in Hindi movies who would act in movies and sing for himself. In addition, he would sing songs mainly for Dev Anand, courtesy his mentor S D Burman.
