Hullo Atuldom
There is a popular movie of the late ’70s, that has had a rather slow journey through the blog. With this post I hope to bring it to the YYIIPPEEEE station.
It began its journey on the blog with its most iconic song. A song that gave its singer -the legend Mohd. Rafi the National Award for best singer as well as that year’s Filmfare award. The song sort of put all doubting Thomas(es) in their place.

A hundred years today. Being celebrated by the 700th post on our blog.
Sahir Ludhianvi – the “. . . Pal Do Pal Ka Shaayar. . .“, who would be actually “. . . Har Ik Pal Ka Shaayar. . .“, being relevant for all times, and responsive to all the pitfalls and tragedies of the human experience. It is Sahir Ludhianvi’s 100th birth anniversary on 08/03/2021 and I have the good fortune of writing for the last remaining song/snippet from ‘Pyasa’ 1957 to post on this occassion. There is no better showcase then the musical canvas of this classic film, I could not ask for a better opportunity. Thank you Avinash ji for giving me this gift.
