Today (22 september) is the birthday of Ranjeeta, an actress who made her Hindi movie duet in 1976 with “Laila Majnu”. Born in 1956, she acted in movies like “Pati Patni Aur Wo” (1978), “Ankhiyon Ke Jahrokhon Se” (1978), “Aap To Aise Na Thhe” (1980), “Satte Pe Satta”(1982), “Teri Kasam” (1982) etc. In late 1970s and early 1970s, she paired up with Mithun Chakraborty in several “spy” movies.

I was not aware of the fact that “Fakeera” (1976) was made by the same team that made “Chor Machaaye Chor” (1974). There is a lot of confusion in youtube and even earthmusic.net about the name of the music director of this film. Even the name of singer is also a confusion. This particular link that I have found is for Mohammed Rafi solo version. The clip itself is giving the name of music director as Hemant Kumar. Earthmusic mentions this song as sung by Lata Mangeshkar and also by Asha-Hemant Kumar.”The songs are confused and mixed up with “”Yehudi ki ladki”(1957). To add to the confusion, there was a film with similar name i.e. “Yahudi ki Ladki” in 1933 too.
