Today (26 january 2014) is the 65th republic day of India. It is one of the most important and significant day in the history of Independent India, because it was on this day in 1950 that India became a democratic Republic unlike how it had been earlier. For the first time in the long history of India, all people were guaranteed equal rights and opportunities under the Indian constitution, something which was unimaginable till then.

No! Nothing similar among these three films, Except that I got to watch these films back to back during our stay at a small town on one of the tour programmes accompanying my parents for their plays (my parents used to act in Marathi plays).( And this may be in 1975-76).

During my early teen days, I was watching movies at the rate of 8 – 10 movies per week. It did not matter whether it was a new movie or an old movie or a repeat. I somehow had to be in a cinema hall between 11.30 AM and 2.30 PM. Sounds very adventurous, right? Yes it was, believe you me, but that was the craze of the movies, both Hindi and English.
