Today is an important day, maybe one of the most important day in the annals of Hindi film music. Today, 18th January, is the day the legendary Saigal Sb completed his mortal journey and departed from this world. After so much that has been written about him, any more contributions would simply be repetitions. But then, no matter how much we may write about him and his singing, it will never ever be able to express the complete emotions about him, and his voice. For one cannot fathom in words and language, that which is a gift of divine.

The New Year according to Gregorian Calendar started 16 days ago on 1 january 2018. Like most people, we too made new year resolutions. Unlike most people, our new year resolutions of posting one “debutant” song and one “YIPPEE” song daily is still being followed regularly.
Day before yesterday (14 january 2018) was Makar Sakranti and that marked the beginning of another new year, viz Hindu new year. Why we should not make new year resolutions on this occasion as well. In our case, we can resolve to continue our new year resolutions of Gregorian calendar new year. 🙂

I was vaguely aware that today (12 january 2018) was an anniversary of C Ramchandra. Subsequently, I came to know that it was no ordinary anniversary. It was the birth centenary of C Ramchandra (12 january 1918- 5 january 1982).
It goes without saying that C Ramchandra was one of the many pioneers of HFM who helped add considerably to the cause of HFM.
