“Basant Bahar” is a movie that was based on the subject of music itself, like “Baiju Baawra” before it. As can be expected, such movies were full of songs. And all these songs have easily become immortal. There are so many such songs in each of these movies hat one is just amazed. And one thinks about it, all these songs were composed more than half a century earlier. This is what is called longevity. And these songs will not get forgotten anytime soon.

“Barsaat ki raat” was an awesome musical extravaganza, the likes of which were perhaps seen neither before nor since. The story of the movie itself revolved around a qawwali competion, so naturally the movie was full of qawwalis and most of them have gone on to become all time great evergreen qawwalis. This song has to be among the most memorable semi classical songs in the history of Bollywood movies. Sahir had written the lyrics and Roshan was the music director.
