Though I have not watched the movie”Taqdeer” (1967) , I have a fair bit of idea about its story line mainly thanks to its songs. I have posted the superb song Jab jab bahaar aayi aur phool muskuraaye from this movie and readers’ comments on this post has given me a good idea about the story. Yesterday I stumbled upon a very old song. This song is a qawwaali and I was pleasantly surprised by it. This qawwali is from a movie called “Beqasoor” (1950).

It is my belief that Roshan should be called the king of filmi qawwalis the way Madan Mohan is described as the king of Ghazals. Many of the qawwaalis that Roshan has created in movies have gone on to become immortal.

“Veer Babhruwaahan” (1950) is a movie about which very little is known today. The only think I know about this movie is that Mridula was the heroine of this movie. I am not sure about the identity of the hero. May be this song, which shows both of them will help readers of this blog to be able to identify the other actors of this movie.
