Here is a song from the film ABHIMAN-57. The name Abhiman ( Pride ) will remind people of another film of the same name , made in 1973-featuring Amitabh and Jaya. It was on the life of two singers who get married because of music and later get separated also because of music and Pride of one partner. This 1957 film was also about Pride but not about Music. It was a family drama depicting false pride of a girl-destroying her family.

I am sure you must have heard the names of Music Directors Fakir Muhammed, Shambhoo, Dattaraj, Brij Bhushan, Raj Ratan, Ronodev Mukherjee, Kamalkant and Vishnu Khanna.
No ? I am surprised. OK. At least you must be knowing Music Directors Ajay, Baboo Singh or Vijay Honavar ? Your blank face says, you have never heard their names.
I am not asking you names of Music Directors from the 1930s or 1940s. All these were composers in the 1960s. If I ask you about Satyam, Jagdish or Ratandeep-Hemraj, what will you say ?
These were Music Directors in the 1970s. They composed music for 5 to 15 films each in the 70s.

And if I told you that the anniversary is really special, extra special; then? “Nirmohi”(1952) was produced by Shriram Sharma and directed by Baij Sharma for Sheetal Movies, Bombay. The movie had Nutan, Sajjan, Amarnath, Raj Mehra, Leela Mishra, C L Kaveesh, Neeru, Kanchan, Chaman Puri, Master Ratan, Rani, Kamla, Srilekha etc in it.

Today (25 june 2015) is the 91st birth anniversary of Madan Mohan (25 june 1924-14 july 1975). When I was looking at the list of Madan Mohan movies and their songs chronologically, I found that the first five Madan Mohan movies, viz “Aankhen”(1950), “Adaa”(1951), “Madhosh”(1951), “Shabistaan”(1951) and “”Aashiana”(1951) are already YIPPEED in the blog and all the songs of these movies have already been covered in the blog.

Club dance in night club-it was a genre of song that began in early 1950s and became very popular. The song would typically be sung by Geeta Dutt or Asha Bhonsle and it would be picturised on a female dancer. She would be watched by shady looking characters up to no good and scheming against others present in the gathering. 🙂
