Old generation music lovers though were more aware of another movie of the same name that was released in 1960. This movie, viz. “College Girl” (1960) had several nice songs sung by Rafi in it.

“Badaltey Rishtey” (1978) was released to a lukewarm response and the movie did not do well at the box office. Of course there is no correlation between a movie’s box office performance and its production values. The story of this movie was different from the usual “dhishum dhishum” stuff of those days. From what one can see from the title of this movie and from the songs, this movie was a story on a love triangle or something similar where Reena Roy have two suitors competing for her.

But when I stumbled upon the songs of this movie recently, I realised that I had listened to these songs those days.
