——————————————-—————————

Welcome all to this post where once again we are going back to ‘one song movie’ on the blog.
Today’s movie is ‘Khaleefaa-1976’. This movie made its debut on the blog on 02.09.2008 with its most popular song ‘dil machal rahaa hai, rang badal rahaa hai’.

However, the movie is waiting for its second song since 02.09.2008 and that makes a 4579 days l-o-n-g wait for this movie … (so, as of now, this is the record for maximum days between first and the second song of a movie on the blog. The earlier record was for 4540 days here .).

Hullo Atuldom

There is a popular movie of the late ’70s, that has had a rather slow journey through the blog. With this post I hope to bring it to the YYIIPPEEEE station.

It began its journey on the blog with its most iconic song. A song that gave its singer -the legend Mohd. Rafi the National Award for best singer as well as that year’s Filmfare award. The song sort of put all doubting Thomas(es) in their place.

As many as six songs from six movies were covered on this date ten years ago on 10 march 2011.

Here are the details of the six songs that were covered on that day :-

3633 Tumne kahaa chhoo maine chhoo liyaa Saawan(1959) Movie YIPPEED by now
3634 Wo dekho dekh rahaa thhaa papeehaa Fariyaad(1964) Four songs covered by now out of 6
3635 Aise to na dekho Bheegi Raat(1965) Movie YIPPEED by now

It is difficult for me to tell what I was doing during various dates of years gone by, seeing that I do not keep any diary. Diary writing used to be a great hobby of people of past generations. Now a days even the habit of writing with pen on paper has largely gone into disuse, and therefore going back don memor lane and giving accurate personal reminiscences has become difficult.

Today is the 8th of March.
A date that has an immediate connect with those who love Urdu poetry, and lyrics of Hindi films.

They celebrate it every year as the birth anniversary of one of the giants of 20th century Urdu poetry, and easily one of the most highly regarded lyricists the Hindi film industry has known.

I’m talking about Sahir Ludhianvi, of course.
He is right up there as one of the greatest – and I don’t think anyone disputes this.

Sahir Ludhianvi & His Music Directors-8 – (more than ‘ten-movies collaboration’)
—————————————————————————————————–

In this series ‘Sahir Ludhianvi & His Music Directors’ today we have discussed Sahir Ludjainvi’s collaboration with Music directors upto ‘seven movies’. After seven-movies collaborations we move to double figures. Today’s music director with Sahir is N. Datta.

If we look at the total number of songs written by Sahir i.e.,717 as per HFGK and the total number of songs up to ‘seven-movie collaboration’ which is 347 songs from movies, which gives us 48% songs from these collaborations. (Out of these 347 songs 328 songs have already been posted on the blog.)
