Mera jeewan kuchh kaam na aayaa

In 1970s, there were two title songs beginning with the words ‘Mera Jeewan’. One of the songs was ‘Mera Jeewan Kora Kaagaz…’ from “Kora Kaagaz”(1974). Another song was ‘Mera jeewan kuchh kaam na aaya..’ from “Mera Jeewan”(1976).

“Aainaa” (1974) , despite being a movie of recent vintage by the standards of this blog is quite an obscure movie. Different sources are not even clear about the year of release of this movie.

Though I had listened to this many a times in 1970s, I was not aware aboout the details of the song. from the voice, I knew that the song was sung by Asha Bhonsle. From the racy tune, i guessed that the music of this song was composed by R D Burman. And that is all I was aware about this song.

When the lyrics and details of this song were sent to me by Prakashchandra,I thought that he must have made a mistake as I have definitely posted this well known Rafi song in the blog. On checking, I found that I had not discussed this song, rather I had discussed the other well known song from this movie sung by Mukesh (Main dhoondhta hoon jinko ).
