“Desh Premi” (1982) was one movie that I actually liked rather whole heartedly, but it appears that I was once again in the minority. While Manmohan Desai movies that I disliked turned out to be big hits, this movie was regarded as a damp squib at the box office.

And for this movie they had signed by Amitabh Bachchan ! It is strange to see Amitabh Bachchan playing a villager ( far cry from his action roles) wearing striped lungi throughout the movie.
