Prakash ji has written for the second time in ‘Readers Farmaishes’ requesting for the upload of this wonderful sad song in the voice of Lata Mangeshkar. The music composition is by that underrated genius – Ganesh. Prakash ji has mentioned that the song itself is not posted anywhere on the internet. So when I read this comment from Prakash ji, repeating his request for this song, I had to pull this out from my collection, and have posted it on YouTube today.

As I browse through my collection, through the YouTube, and through the Geet Kosh, I have jotted down a fairly long list of films that are still waiting in the wings to find an entry on this blog. And they satisfy two very important criteria that are kind of a thumb rule here. Most of these films are rare and obscure, and more importantly, they have music and songs that are just superb. His web site is at here , and I recommend friends and readers on this blog to visit this and find out more about him.

This movie, as well as other movies of the same genre, viz. “Dastak”, “Chetna” etc suffered from wrong publicity which attracted wrong kind of movie goers to these movies. The movies suffered at the box office. Come to thingk of it, Indian movie audience, media as well as the censors have not yet matured even today, some four decades later, to be able to deal with these kind of movies.

On the occasion of Holi today, which is the fourth Holi for this blog, here is a Holi song from “Aakhir Kyon” (1985). The time from 1980s onwards was when my period of blackout from Hindi movies had begun, so it comes as no surprise that I am not much familiar with the music of those days. Personally I came across this Holi song just now and I found it quite a hummable and danceable song.
