11/10/2020 – 78th Birthday of Amitabh Bachchan

A few days ago I saw this whatapp forward video, where a few Africans were singing this hindi song “rote rote hansnaa seekho hanste hanste rona”. This song is a known song, often heard on radio, but not recently seen or heard.
I knew it was a song sung on screen by Amitabh Bachchan. I checked the blog, to find it was not posted. This is a well-known song from 1983 film “Andhaa Kanoon”, where Amitabh Bachchan’s role was supposedly a guest appearance. Getting the lyrics of this song was a breeze, as I knew the lyrics and lines of stanza’s.

On the blog, other than sharing songs and posts for special occasions we also simultaneously work on ‘different projects’ from time to time. One of the projects that I have taken up is to introduce ‘movies having same titles’ on the blog.
We also combine launching of new ‘movie’ with special occasions like anniversaries of artists, actors, actresses etc.
Today I am presenting a song from the 1973 movie ‘Qeemat’. We already have a movie titled ‘Qeemat-1946’ on the blog and all its songs have also been covered on the blog.

Hullo Atuldom
Today’s date (10 cctober 2020) is rather unique. Fellow ASAD follower Satyajitji, from down-under, pointed it out. 10102020- “never before, never again” was the reaction to that from another regular follower of the blog. Of course it is a “unique arrangement of the numbers that form the date which is appreciated by our brain”. A true statement by our in-house encyclopaedia.
Today’s post is a rather difficult one too. Never before have I faced such a dilemma. It is a case of too many options. I sifted through a whole lot of songs before I made a choice.

Today 9th Oct’2020 is the sixth Remembrance Day of music director, lyricist and singer Ravindra Jain. He passed away on 9th Oct’2015 at the age of 71 yrs (born on 28th February’1944).
On this occasion as a tribute to him here is a song from the ‘1982’ movie ‘Bhaagya’ which is composed as well as written by him.
‘Bhaagya-1982’ was directed by Naval Kishore for ‘Baba Movietone, Bombay’. It was produced by Ravindranath Dasgupta.

“Tyaag”(1976) was Produced by N S Kabir and directed by Deendayaal Sharma for Films and Films Interbnational Production, Bombay. The movie had Sharmila Tagore, Rajesh Khanna, Master Tito, Sulochana Latkar, Prem Chopra, Mukri, Asit Sen, Murad, Amrit Patel, Tuntun, Kamal Kapoor, Chandrima Bhaduri, Mohan Jerry, Mahendra Zaveri, Om prakash, Nayim, Billimoria, Anand, Lalita Kumari etc with guest appearances by Bindu, Master Satyajit, Dheeraj, Gurnam Singh, Sona, Raza Murad in it.

Hullo Atuldom
This is a post to wish Suyash Pandey on his 58th birthday (DoB 25 September 1962). His mother was a physician and a personal dietitian to Rekha in the ’80s. His father was in the team of surgeons who performed the first ever heart transplant in India at Mumbai’s KEM Hospital in the 70s. Suyash Pandey’s daughter is also in movies and she made her debut in 2019.

Dev Anand – 97th Birth Anniversary

Dharamdev Pishorimal Anand (26 September 1923 – 3 December 2011), is the full name of the dashing, debonair yet chocolate hero of the 50’s, also nicknamed as the ever green actor, he was a hero, director, producer and what not. He is known for never say die attitude and being a gentleman of the old world sense. He formed a trio of superstars with Dilip Kumar and Raj Kapoor in the black n white era.

Blog ten year challenge (2010-2020)- Song Number 85

Atul ji has rightly mentioned in his post regarding BTYC posts coming up regularly, having taken precedence over other projects in the process. I think, on the other hand it is also helping bring movies bring closer to ‘Yippeeee’ and also helping movies getting noticed after an interval of couple or few years where the movies earlier were having some songs posted and took a back-seat thereafter without any reason.

Blog 10-Year Challenge (2010-2020) – Song No. 72

This day ten years ago (7 september 2010) saw six songs being covered in the blog. The first song was posted at 7 :30 AM whereas the sixth and final song was covered at 9:42 AM.

Blog 10-Year Challenge (2010-2020) – Song No. 69

Ten years ago, the blog was covering six songs every day and seven songs every fourth day. So I was a bit surprised to note that “only” five songs were covered on 3 September 2010. But there awsa very good reasohn for that, which will become clear during our discussion here.
Here is the list of the five songs that were covered on 3n september 2010:-
