– – – – – – – – – – – – – – –
OK wow, we are at 99 for this series today. 🙂
The surprising thing is that this film is not yet on the blog. It is not obscure, it is not unfamiliar, it is not starring unfamiliar faces, it does not contain unfamiliar or unheard songs, and the songs are good to be heard. So then, how come?

There is always a freshness – a freshness as fresh as the cool early morning breeze. Pick up any film, and you will find this freshness wash all over you, as the music and the songs of that film play. Be it “Nadiya Kinaare Heraaye Aayi Kangna”, or “Naina Diwaane, Ik Nahin Maanen”, or “Thandi Hawaayen, Lehra Ke Aayen”, or “Ye Raat Ye Chandani Phir Kahaan”, or “Phaili Huyin Hain Sapnon Ki Baahen”, or “O Nigaahen Mastaana”, or “Mehfil Mein Aaye Wo Aaj Dheere Se”, or “Khoya Khoya Chaand”, or “Dil Ka Bhanwar Kare Pukaar”, or “Haule-Haule Jiya Dole”, or “O Mere Bairaagi Bhanwra”, or “Megha Chhaaye Aadhi Raat”, or “Sun Ree Pawan, Pawan Purvaiya”, or “Sandhyaa Jo Aaye Mann Ud Jaaye”. . . the list seems to be endless.

By now it seems to have become a routine for me to make only cameos on this blog, triggered either by a memorable event (such as the blog’s tenth anniversary) or a “nudge” from another Atulite. 🙂
I will not seek to correct this impression – for the facts speak for themselves. I will also not make any excuse of “being busy” – that would only be an insult to people like Atul and Sudhir ji who manage to give so much time to the blog, despite so many demands on their time.
So no excuse – mea culpa. Today’s post is also a result of a nudge – this time from Peevisie’s Mom.

Today (5 may 2018) is the twelfth rememberance day of Naushad (26 December 1919 – 5 May 2006).
Naushad composed just above 600 songs in 64 Hindi movies. 530 songs from 60 of his movies have been covered in the blog. 49 of these movies have already been YIPPEED in the blog. So unlike other music blogs/ radio stations/ TV stations, who play the usual well known songs as always, we in this blog only have 70 odd Naushad compositions from 15 movies to chose from, seeing that we do not repeat a song in the blog.
