I have posted quite a few “chitthi” songs from 1970,1980 and 1990s. It is not that such songs were not there in the earlier decades. Not at all. There were such “Chitthi” songs in 1960s too.

Ik na Ik din ye kahaani banegi

“Gora Aur Kala” was almost a swan song for Rajendra Kumar as a hero, who was pitted against a newcomer viz Hema Malini in this movie. An ageing Rajendra Kumar against a young Hema Malini- such mismatches were not quite unknown in Bollywood those days.

Rafi has sung many drunkard songs in his career. And they were mainly picturised on Raj Kumar, Dev Anand etc. I was not aware that Rafi had sung a drunkard song for Rajendra Kumar too.

One of the category of Bollywood songs that I post in this blog are “rain” songs. Quite a few of these rain songs are picturised on Rajesh Khanna and Mumtaz. So I may as well open a further sub category of rain songs viz Rajesh Khanna-Mumtaz rain songs. And all these songs are simply out of thius world.

This is a song which very much contains the name of its movie as well. Yes, “aaja tujhko pukaare mere geet” is a song from “Geet”. And as iconic songs go, this song is as iconic as they come.

Here is yet another Piano cum Party song that was almost a must in Bollywood movies of 1960s. The hero typically would sing a song seated on a piano kept near a big staircase. The big hall would be full of the invitees to the party. Except the main characters, others would be under strict orders not to make any movements.
