Today’s song is a comedy duet from the film Jhamela-1953.
The song is sung by Chitalkar and Sunder Singh – the comedian. Many of you would be surprised if I tell you that in the beginning of his career, Sunder-the well known comedian was a Hero in many films. Not only this, but also that he was a good singer and he has sung as many as 40 songs in as many as 25 films !

Today’s song is an ‘all female qawwaali song’ from the 1964 movie ‘Jaadui Angoothi’.
So far, I have been presenting qawwaalis from the decade of seventies on the blog. For a change today, I am presenting this one from the decade of sixties. In fact, today’s song was lying with me since long and Initially I sent only the audio of this song (the only vailable version at that time). But now the movie as well as the video of this songs has become available online.

Hullo Atuldom
“Awaargi” (1990) was directed by Mahesh Bhatt, story-screenplay-dialogues were written by Suraj Sanim, and produced by P. Raghunath (who happened to be Hema Malini’s uncle). The movie opens with a message ‘Thanking Hema Malini’. Anu Malik was the music composer with Anand Bakshi writing most of its songs. Playback singers used were Asha Bhonsle, Mohd. Aziz, Lata Mangeshkar, Anuradha Paudwal; the Ghazal Maestro Ghulam Ali sang the melodious “Chamkate Chaand Ko Toota Hua Taara Banaa Dalaa” which was was written by Asad Bhopali. (Recently I saw this, sung by a youngster, on satellite TV, and I was hooked on to it and the songs of the movie itself).

Today’s song is from a “special” film Mujrim Kaun-1966.
I call this a special film, because of an interesting reason. The reason is that this is one of those rare films, where most of the actors, Director, music Director, all 3 lyricists, singers, producer, the banner, the screenplay writer, the dialogue writer and even the financer were all “ONE TIME” members. They had no previous experience earlier and after this film, they did not work in any other film.

This year I celebrated milestone of ‘five hundredth post’ in the month of ‘April 2022’ and today I reach six hundred posts on the blog. (there is much more to my statistics for the year ‘2020’, ‘2021’ & ‘2022’ , but that is the matter of another post which I would take at appropriate time 🙂 in the future.).

These days I am looking for missing movies of Lyricist Ravindra Jain (of course he is the music director as well), from the seventies, for some obvious reasons.
Recently I came across one such movie which I am not much aware of and I think I never got to listen to its songs. But, after listening to its songs I find the ‘holi’ song a familiar one and I was also surprised that it has not been posted on the blog so far. (however I guess it must have been sent by our other team members?)
