This is the second of the back to back rare song of Asha Bhosle from “Bandagi” (1972). This song is “Bade Anadi Seedhe Saadhe” it is written by Rajinder Krishan and composed by Shankar Jaikishan.
“Bandagi” (1972) was directed by K Shankar for MCR Films, Madras. The movie had Vinod Mehra, Sandhya Roy, Madan Puri, Sujit Kumar, Ramesh Deo, Sundar, Birbal, Shivraj, Prem Kumar, Gemini Balu, Indira Bansal, Shammi, Shabnam, Pandhari Bai, Padma Khanna, Jagdeep etc in it.

Continuing the series on actresses whose names start with A and who have lip-synched to Asha Bhosle’s songs, we come today to Aarti Gupta. I think she was more famous for her modelling career in the 1980s than for her acting career, although she was quite well known in the horror genre, particularly for her appearances in the Ramsay Brothers’ Samri series.
The Samri series began with Purana Mandir (1984). The character Samri became such a hit with horror fans that he was revived, even though he had been eliminated in the climax of the original film. I am not a big fan of the horror genre, particularly the bloodthirsty variety that tends to dominate the scene.

The song being discussed in this post is a multiple version song. In the female version song, the lady pulls the leg of the gentleman by mocking him. In the male version of the song, the gentlleman returns the compliment.
This song is from the movie ‘Maine Jeenaa Seekh Liyaa-1959’. Male version is sung by Mohd Rafi and the female version is sung by Asha Bhonsle. As per the song list of this movie in Geet Kosh the Asha Bhonsle version appears first (if the HFGK song list is in the order in which the songs appear in the movie) and the Rafi version happens later.
‘Maine Jeenaa Seekh Liyaa’-1959, a social movie, was directed by Satish Nigam for Filmistan Limited, Bombay. This movie was passed by the Censor Board on 10.12.1959.

The cast of this movie had Nirupa Roy, Trilok Kapoor, Manhar Desai, P. Kailash, S.N. Tripathi, Rajan Haksar, Poonam Kapoor, Sundar, Babu Raje, Yashodhara Katju, Rajrani, Helen, Sheela Kashmiri, Roopa, Heera Sawant, Uma Khosla, Lata, Nimmo Firoze, Lata Roy, Sarla, Buta Ram Sharma, Gangaram, K.P. Hrishikesh Mukherjee has been known to make family-oriented films with intricate human relationship issues presented through light comedy. ‘Anand’ (1970), Baawarchi’ (1972), ‘Chupke Chupke’ (1975), ‘Gol Maal’ (1979), ‘Khubsoorat’ (1980), ‘Naram Garam’ (1981) and ‘Rang Birangi’ (1983) are some of his well-known films in this genre. There is another of his film, ‘Kisee Se Na Kehnaa’ (1983) which is making a debut on the Blog after about 18 years since the Blog started. This is a lesser-known film of Hrishikesh Mukherjee. I had heard the name of the film but was not aware that it was directed by Hrishikesh Mukherjee until a couple of days back.
‘Kisee Se Na Kehnaa’ (1983) was produced by Jaywant Pathare and Ashok Rawat and was directed by Hrishikesh Mukherjee. The cast included Farooque Sheikh and Deepti Naval in lead roles supported by Utpal Dutt, Saeed Jafferi, S N Bannerjee, Deven Verma, Lalita Kumari, Asha Sharma, Ketki Dave, Kanu Roy etc. Prema Narayan and Yunus Parvez made the guest appearances in the film. The film belongs to light comedy genre.
