“Raat Andheri Thhi” (1967) is a B grade movie about which very little is known these days. Theinformation that I have been able to gather about this movie tells me that this movie had Feroz Khan, Sheikh Mukhtar, Lolita Chaterjee & Helen in it, which makes it an archtypical B grade movie of the 1960s. “Bhaabhi Ki Choodiyaan” (1961) is a movie that, for most people, is associated with the immortal song Jyoti kalash chhalke. This song, written in chaste Sanskritised Hindi is so soothing to the mind that one can listen to this song every morning. And indeed there are readers of this blog who do just that every morning.

While discussing songs, I often like to discuss songs that are rare/ unusual/unexpected in some ways. For example, songs sung by people normally not known for their singing, songs composed by people who are normally known for some other activity, lyricist/music director/singer figuring in the picturisation of the song etc.
