Today, December 29, 2021 is the 6th Remembrance Day of Subir Sen, singer, actor and the music director in Hindi and Bangla films. The resemblance of his voice with that of Hemant Kumar seems to have influenced the music director, Shankar-Jaikishan to try him as a playback singer in Hindi films. Subir Sen sang just 28 songs in Hindi films in the span of around 12 years. Most of the songs he rendered became popular.

The story of Raja Harishchandra is prominent in Hindu culture for being a Satyawadi king, who made big sacrifices to stand by his word given to a sage, though in a dream. Most people in the age group of 50 and above possibly must have read his story in their childhood. This was not only a popular story for children but even the Hindi film makers loved this story.

‘Mujhse Shaadi Karogi’ (release date 30th July 2004) is produced by Sajid Nadiadwala and directed by David Dhawan. It has a cast headed by Priyanka Chopra, Salman Khan, Akshay Kumar, Amrish Puri, Kadar Khan, with Shashikala, Upasana Singh, Supriya Karnik, Satish Shah, Rajpal Yadav, etc for support. A few well-known faces make cameo appearances as themselves. The songs of the movie are written by Arun Bhairav, Jalees Sherwani (never heard these two names) and Sameer. Sajid- Wajid and Anu Malik are the music composers with Anu Malik giving music for one song and Sajid-Wajid having tuned the rest (there were 8 songs with two songs being multi-version songs).
