This song is a poem which is written by Md Iqbal, also known as Allama Iqbal. This song has many versions, which have been sung by many artists. “Dulhan Ke Raat Ki” (1966) utilises this poem as a qawwali/ mujra song, which may not be what this poem is intended to be.

“Suhaag Sindoor”(1961) is the kind of movie which is unremarkable, does some modest business and is then forgotten with time. if such movies get remembered in future, then it is mainly because of some crazy 🙂 people who dig up movies like this in search of some nice songs in them.

This movie was a Shobhana Pictures presentation and it was directed by Salil Chaudhary. The movie had Mehmood, Balraj Sahni, Meena Kumari, Abhi Bhattacharya, Asit Sen, Keshto Mukherjee, Poonam, Viswas Kunte, R. Jhunjhunwala, Harin Chattopadhyaya etc in it.

“Raat Ki Raani” (1949) was a J S Pictures presentation. J S stood for Jagdish Sethi, who also directed the movie, and for that matter even acted in the movie. The cast of the movie included names like Munawwar Sultana, Shyam, Sulochana Chatterji, Madan Puri, Jagdish Sethi, Om Prakash, Chaman Puri etc.
