O P Nayyar would not employ the voice of Lata Mangeshkar in his compositions, but no one found it ironic that Lata Mangeshkar’s younger sister became the mainstay of O P Nayyar compositions.

“Ek Kali Muskaayi”(1968) was a Panchdeep Chitra Production. The movie was directed by Vasant Joglekar. This movie was meant to introduce the director’s daughter, viz. “Raftaar” (1975) was a movie that was not quite A grade, nor it was an entirely B grade movie. In 1970s, such movies, which were neither here nor there tended to have Vinod Mehra and Mausami Chatterji in them as the lead pair. Put another way, they were poor producer’s Dharmendra-Hema Malini.

“Abdullah” (1980) was a movie that received quite a bit of publicity during its making, but people lost interest once it was released. I do not know why. This movie never came to my town, which is normally the facte of B grade movies and not a movie which was produced and directed by an A grade Producer like err Sanjay Khan :).

“Taxi Stand” (1958) is an obscure B grade movie. This movie was a Janta Chitra Production. It was produced by Devi Sharma and directed by Gajanan Jagirdar. Starcast of the movie included names like Majnu, Rajan Haksar, Tuntun, Prashanta, K.N.Singh, Om Prakash, Anita Guha, Chandrashekhar, KanchanMala, Meena Shorey, JeetBala, Sunder etc.
