VINTAGE NAUSHAD…Song No. 4
———————————–

Today’s song is from a 1942 film-Nayi Duniya. After a draught of success, Naushad entered the year 1942. Nai Duniya was his 5th and final film before he began his Success Marathon of jubilees. He knew that to achieve this, he will have to be different from other composers and his tunes must be so simple that a common man too could hum them in his bathroom.

People tend to promise themselves that they would turn a new leaf on the new year. So they begin with the right earnest on the new year day only to falter immediately afterwards. 🙂 My promise to myself on such occasions are similar to electoral promises made by candidates which must not be taken seriously by voters if they have learnt from past experiences. 🙂

So today (1 january 2015) heralds the arrival of a new year viz 2015. Many people try to go to a new year heralding get together parties but I did not share their enthusiasm and decided to keep indoors, considering the weather conditions. Chaandni raaten – Song No. 17
————————————–

      chandni raaten
       ho. . oo. .
       chaandni raaten
       sab jag soye
       ham jaagen
       taaron se karen baaten
       ho. . oo. .
       chaandni raaten
       ho. . oo. .
       chaandni raaten

I was aware this is some remix song of an old song, just like the remix of the song ‘Kitni Akeli Kitni Tanhaa Si Lagi‘ from film ‘Talaash’ (1969).   I used to think that ‘Kitni Akeli. . . ‘ song was a Kishore Kumar song and remixed.  It was many years later that I heard the original Lata Mangeshkar song composed by SD Burman.
