“Apne Huye Paraaye” (1964) was a Mars & Movies Production. It was produced and directed by Ajit Kumar Chakraborty. The movie had Manoj Kumar, Mala Sinha, Shashikala, Agha, Sunder, Lalita Pawar, Dulari, Chand Burque, Iftekar, Savitri, Ramayan Tiwari, Naina, Padma Kumari,Pratap Singh, Joshi, Khan etc in it.

There have been two Hindi movies called “Shama” and there are many people including “experts” who get mixed up in this confusion. There movies were “Shama” (1946) and “Shama” (1961). The confusion is compounded by the fact that the music directors of these movies were Ghulam Haider and Ghulam Mohammad respectively and there are people who think that the two were the same person. In fact I once watched a podcast about old songs where the podcaster very knowledgeably told the audience that Ghulam Haider, who composed the music of “Shaheed” (1948) later composed the music of “Pakeezah” (1972).

As a human being, Kishore Kumar was quite a study in contrast. He was mainly known by his ability to bring a smile, if not whole hearted laughter in people’s mind. His joie de vivre was infectious with his fellow artists. If Kishore Kumar acted opposite actresses now known for playing tragedy roles (viz Nutan and Meena Kumari), then you can bet that the resultant movie would be a light hearted comedy, and not a serious melancholic stuff.
